APPEARANCE
Color: Rich, golden brown to russet with occasional light streaks.
Grain: Interlocked, varied flat to vertical.
Variations within Species and Grades: SFP selects dark flooring only.

PROPERTIES
Hardness: 2500, 90% harder than Red Oak.
Dimensional Stability: Average 70% more stable than Oak. Acclimation essential.
Durability: Excellent.

WORKABILITY
Sawing/Machining: Extremely dense and difficult to machine.
Sanding: Sands well.
Nailing: Good holding ability.
Finishing: No known problems.
Comments: Color varies greatly from light to dark grades.
